EHRC 1718-48 Elections and the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly in the Commonwealth

Tender description

We are looking for a suitably experienced contractor(s) with expert knowledge of international human rights issues to engage with members of the Commonwealth Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (CFNHRI) to produce a report on elections and the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly in the Commonwealth. The project will: • explore the challenges that are being faced by Commonwealth countries in relation to elections in the context of freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly; • use case studies to highlight how Commonwealth NHRIs have addressed these challenges; • produce a report which will support members of CFNHRI to fulfil their mandated activities; • be used to highlight the important role of NHRIs in promoting and protecting human rights. We welcome proposals that adopt a partnership approach. The successful contractor will be required to interview selected members in person, as far as possible. Therefore international travel is expected in the delivery of this project.
