Tender description

Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) has a requirement for the provision of adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) to all staff involved in planned Use of Force (UOF) incidents. Equipment includes body armor, guards and protectors, fire retardant clothing, gloves, footwear, helmets, batons, shields, handcuffs, kit bags, method of entry equipment, fire extinguishers, PAVA spray and leg restraint belts. This requirement has been separated across 15 Lots. Suppliers may bid for as many or few Lots as they choose. Anti-stab and ballistics vests for use across the court and prison estate. Arm guards and leg guards - personal protective equipment. Flame retardant coveralls, including balaclavas and undergarments. Flame retardant undergarment with integrated guards to protect from blunt force trauma. Public order gloves and mid-finger gloves, protecting against blunt force trauma. Public order footwear. Anti-riot / public order helmets with anti-scratch visor. Telescopic and polycarbonate batons for use of force events. Shields to provide protection in use of force events. Rigid bar handcuffs enabling effective restraint techniques. Kit bags to carry use of force equipment (e.g. helmet, footwear, guards, clothing, baton). Method of entry tools including enforcer (or "go") bars, Hallingan bars and door rams. Portable fire extinguisher for effective use on liquid, electrical and material fires. Pelargonic Acid Vanillylamide in pressurised form used to incapacitate violent offenders. Leg restraint belt to restrain legs, with handles to enable carrying in a horizontal position.
