Tender description

NHS Blood and Transplant is an Arm’s Length Body of the Department of Health employing approx. 5 650 people across the UK; responsible for the provision of safe and efficient blood and blood products and Organ Donation and Tissue services to the NHS and other sectors. NHSBT is seeking the provision of occupational driver training. The number of staff who drive on business for NHSBT is approximately 650, utilising some 360 vehicles. Most of these staff are based within England,but there may potentially be a requirement during the course of the contract for the training of lease car drivers throughout the UK i.e. including Northern Ireland. The following specialist activities are required: — Emergency response driving (does not include pursuit driving), — Car and light commercial van driving, — Minibus and Coach driving, — 7.5t Box van driving. The aim of the training is to highlight the importance that NHSBT places on managing Occupational Road Risk (ORR) and minimise road traffic accidents.
