The Energy House 2.0 facilitates the construction and demolition of new build properties throughout the research cycle to test a variety of building products within a thermally isolated and precisely controlled internal environment that replicates external weather conditions including temperature ranges of -20c to +40c within either one of the 2 sealed chambers. These conditions aim to replicate the vast majority of the world’s weather conditions through the combination of different systems working in tandem. This process will engage the commercial market for testing of products and entire buildings, advancing real world research which can be applied to the benefit of all. As a result of the unique project brief and the technical complexities of the scheme the procurement method must be fully considered in order to achieve successful delivery.
