Tender description

The Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to support the review and development of a number of housing related documents that will set out the City's strategic priorities for the delivery of housing and housing related services. You will be responsible for acting as a critical friend, providing oversight of the development of the City Housing Strategy, Private Sector Housing Strategy, Homeless Strategy and Housing Development Strategy to ensure the strategies: • are aligned with each other and the Corporate Plan; • account for the national, regional and local context; • are compliant with any relevant legislation and regulation or help to provide a framework where required for discreet areas of work; • address housing need • make the link to the wider growth agenda for the city in terms of economy, regeneration, skills and enterprise to capture the potential opportunities that will arise from housing related activity; • are integrated with social care and public health and support the provision of sufficient supported housing to meet need; • are ambitious in what will be achieved, whilst sufficiently resourced and deliverable; • draws upon best practice elsewhere; • engages a partnership approach in their delivery. The consultant will also provide assistance in drafting elements of the strategies, undertaking some consultation and drawing together the action plans, where resources allow.
