Tender description

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough authority (The Authority), on behalf of the central collaboration of schools is looking to establish a pseudo-Framework Agreement for the provision of school meals for a group of 7 primary schools in the Barnsley borough. The schools involved are open to consider options in which they pay a service fee for provision of school meals, or where they let a concession contract for a provider to utilise the facilities of the school and manage the end to end provision of meals including payments from paid school meals. Under the light touch regime tenderers will be selected via a 2 stage procurement process. We invite tenderers to bid for one or both lots. We will appoint one tenderer for each of the 2 lots. The provision of school meals is up to 7 primary schools located within the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council area. Under this lot the contractor is required to provide a range of meal options based on the number of meals agreed with each school, and have full use of the kitchen facilities for delivery of the school meals provision. The Contractor shall be responsible for ordering of relevant items and costs associated with the provision and delivery of school meals. The Contractor shall receive a service fee from each school. The provision of school meals is up to 7 primary schools located within the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council area. Under this lot the contractor is required to provide a range of meal options and manage the payments from paid school meals. The Contractor shall have full use of the kitchen facilities for delivery of the school meals provision. In addition to income from paid school meals the Contractor shall receive payments from each school for free school meals and any staff meals, hospitality food and refreshments as incurred. The Contractor shall be responsible for ordering of relevant items and costs associated with the provision and delivery of school meals.
