Tender description
To Provide Advocacy services for Children and Adults. We will be hosting a Supplier day 13.6.2018, if you would like to attend please contact Ursula.standard@luton.gov.uk to confirm your attendance. Children's Advocacy Services. The 4 main services are: Provision of independent visitor service for children and young people (looked after), provision of advocacy service for children and young people (receiving service from council), provision of independent and return interviews, provision of child protection advocacy for looked after children and young people. Children — within Luton, a significant number of Looked After children in Luton are placed out of area across the country, the service would need to be able to support individuals wherever they are placed across country. Adults Advocacy Services. Advocacy for adults is for Luton residents or residents for whom Luton Council have a responsibility. Some residents have to be placed outside of the area as there is no suitable accommodation / support to meet their needs. I would suggest that for adults the area advertised covers the South East and Eastern region. Description of Services. Advocacy is defined as: “Taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need”. The purpose of advocacy is to ensure that adults in need are able to access advocacy services which will: — Respond to the legal obligations of Luton Council, (for example IMCA, IMHA), — Provide responsive, effective support to ensure that adults are meaningfully engaged in planning their care and support options, — Ensure that vulnerable adults are empowered to have a voice in relation to the services they use and be engaged in shaping them, — Provide information, advice and signposting services that, —— Direct eligible service users in a timely and effective way on to other support providers, fully utilising the Luton Access Hub and other 3rd sector organisations within Luton and the surrounding area, —— Help ensure that service users know the support available to them and how to access it. — Ensure the diverse needs of the Luton community are acknowledged, strengthening networks with these communities.
