Highways England would like to share further information about our development of a new procurement route to deliver the smart motorway programme and gather further feedback from the supply chain on our proposed approach. Our current thinking is based on pre-procurement supplier engagement we held back in February 2018 and internal development work that began at the market-wide briefing event in May 2017. How to participate in the engagement is contained further on in the notice. The latest engagement pack is separated into two separate sections: — Section 1: high-level overview of our development work to date, produced by Highways England’s Routes to Market Smart Motorway Team. The content takes into account supplier insights gained from the engagement session held in February 2018. — Section 2: areas we would like to further engage with suppliers and obtain feedback on. This will be used to inform and enrich the model we are developing. Please carefully consider the areas outlined in Section 2 to decide whether you could contribute to the afternoon discussions. The market engagement will take place early July 2018 in a central location. The maximum number of individuals per organisation will be decided once we have confirmed the numbers of suppliers interested in the event. Further details will be shared as soon as possible. We also welcome written feedback and details on how to submit written feedback and timescales are included within the pack.
