Tender description
The provision of community occupational therapy (OT) services on the Isle of Wight. The contracts are to run from 1.8.2018 for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 2 years at the sole discretion of the Authority. This are 2 lots. Lot 1 is the Community Occupational Therapy First response and Low Level Support Service and Lot 2 is the Community Occupational Therapy Services. Lot 1 is the community occupational therapy first response and low level support service. The Lot 1 service provision includes the following requirements: — receive all referrals for community occupational therapy, — screen all referrals for community occupational therapy, — categorise all referrals for community occupational therapy as high / medium / low in accordance with agreed criteria, — refer all medium or high risk referrals to the Authority’s appointed contractor for medium and high risk assessments, — provide for timely occupational therapy assessments for those who are low risk at the Independent Living Centre that support people on the Isle of Wight to maintain their independence within their home environment through provision of early intervention and prevention support, — provide timely walking assessment for blue badge applicants. The Lot 2 service provision includes the following requirements: — occupational therapy assessments that support people on the Isle of Wight to maintain their independence within their home environment through provision of early intervention and prevention support, community equipment and adaptations, — occupational therapy assessments that support people on the Isle of Wight to maintain their independence within the prison through provision of early intervention and prevention support, community equipment and adaptations, — occupational therapy assessments and support for people who are in short term residential care placements to enable them to return home, — occupational therapy intervention that supports people returning home from hospital to prevent delayed transfers of care and avoid unnecessary admission to residential care, — occupational therapy support to carers that help them to maintain their own wellbeing whilst carrying out their caring responsibilities, — high levels of satisfaction in the people who access the Service, — consistently high performance levels which meet or exceed the KPI requirements.
