Soft Market Test: Rigid Plastics Recycling or Recovery Services and Treatment of Other Separated Materials

Leicestershire County Council wishes to examine opportunities for providing a long term, economically advantageous solution for the recycling or recovery of c. 1000–2000 tonnes per annum of Council rigid plastics (a mix of items such as plastic furniture, plant pots, buckets, boxes, children’s toys etc.) and treatment of other separated materials. A questionnaire is available for interested parties to download and return via www.eastmidstenders.org, as part of our commissioning review to examine the opportunities available to provide a cost effective, long term solution for managing this material. It is anticipated any formal contract would commence from Spring/Summer 2019 with potential contract periods between 1-5 years. For the avoidance of doubt, this notice is for the purpose of conducting a soft market testing exercise and will not formally begin the procurement or constitute any commitment by the Council to undertake any procurement exercise.
