Tender description

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the South East of England. The Trust was legally established on 14.2.2000 and provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 560 000 people living in the South of West Kent and the North of East Sussex. The Trust core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs, and it operates from 2 main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. The latter is a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) hospital and provides wholly single bedded en-suite accommodation for in-patients. On the 1.6.2016 The Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) appointed a single provider for Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (PTS) for all patients registered with a Kent GP who require patient transport to and from agreed treatment centers within Kent which include Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust's Hospitals. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are committed to the provision of this service from its single provider. However, at times as a result of requests for patient transport falling outside of the scope for the contract there are occasions where the Trust will require on an ad-hoc basis an additional Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service which will include but not limited to: a) High Dependency, b) bariatric patient care, c) By stretcher or wheelchair.
