THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND NOT A TENDER PROCESS The Council is seeking to procure an Employee Counselling Service, the Council employs between 2500 – 3000 people, with approximately 4000 more who work within schools. In the past several smaller organisations (such as parish councils and individual schools) have accessed counselling under this contract via the Council, and we would expect this type of arrangement to continue. Our staff are used to counselling being delivered in a face-to face situation, and we envisage that to be the normal approach. Other consultation methods might be suitable for some individuals, but this would be an unusual arrangement The Council does not commit to requiring any particular number of sessions; the number will depend on the demand from the workforce. The Employee Counselling Service is confidential. Staff may contact the service and request support, which has taken the initial form of up to four one-hour sessions: a further two sessions can be offered if the professional judgement of the counsellor supports that. Additional sessions beyond that should be funded by the employee or the employing department. Keywords: counselling
