To supply and install a turnkey solution to manufacture toothbrushes. Delivery and Installation must take place in agreements with the Industrial Manager or representative, and must conform to all local security and health and safety procedures. It is recommended that a site visit to the relevant establishment is carried out prior to any bid being submitted. Toothbrush Injection mould tool to be able to produce a minimum 1 000 000 toothbrushes per year on a standard 32hr week. Special Consideration. Please note this equipment will be placed within a prison working environment. Consideration should be given to design/ build. Equipment that will only allow components to manufacture the toothbrushes to be loaded into the machines correctly, offering shut down where this is not followed. Moulding to fit into the Bristling/Tufting/Trimming and Packing. Component and tool drawing to be supplied. Tooling must be ready with samples products available for trails for 15.9.2108 on Tufting, trimming and packing machine. Tooling signed off and delivered into HMP Ranby before 15.12.2018. Bristling / Tufting machine must comply with EU Safety Regulations and CE markings. Toothbrush tufting machine Minimum Requirement. — 1000 tufts per minute, — stack hopper for the brush handles (manual loading), — triple fibrebox (manual loading), — ready for one toothbrush model. Safety switches on guards (incl safety PLC) for CE-safety compliancy. Trimming and finishing machine for toothbrushes. — includes 2 flat trimming units (place for up to 4), — includes 2 end-rounding u nits (place for up to 6). Exhaust unit for (trimmed-off fibre and end-rounding dust). Central trim length adjustment. Preparation for hotfoil press. Hotstamping press including 1 hotstamping die. Code marke((for shift code marking). 2 additional end-rounding units Brush cleaning unit (to remove dust from the end-rounded product). Safety switches on guards (incl safety PLC) for CE-safety compliancy. Ready for one toothbrush model. Packing individual Toothbrushes. — all tooling for one polybag sealing/ blister pack type included, — output approx 20 blister packages/minute. Vacuum pump if required for less compressed air consumption. Chilling unit if required for cooling water. Temperature regulator unit if required. Noise level to be below 60 dB(A). Testing and Inspection Equipment. Provide Testing and inspection equipment for relevant Toothbrush Standards. Delivery, Installation, Commissioning, Training and Servicing. Delivery/ Installation. 1) Installation and training cost to be included within the overall quote. 2) The supplier must ensure that access into the prison, workshop and the area where the equipment is to be sited is suitable to receive the machines prior to any order being placed. 3) All delivery arrangements, including dates, must be agreed with the Industrial Manager or representative priory to delivery. 4) Handling and positioning of Machine within the workshop (including any plant hire) should be carried out by the supplier. 5) All site work must conform to current Building Regulations and Health and Safety legislation. 6) Delivery of Injection Mould Tooling Tufting, Assembly and associated equipment will be required at: HMP Ranby Straight Mile Retford, Nottinghamshire, DN22 8EU. 7) Delivery of Units is required before 15.12.2018. Maintenance. 1) Provide details of servicing requirements and costs. 2) Provide details of any Service/ Maintenance contracts available and costs. 3) Confirm that spare parts will be available for a minimum of 5 years 4) Provide at least two copies of instruction/ service manuals in English. Staff training. 1) On site training will be required for up to four staff. 2) Provide details of any additional industrial training that may be suitable for Prisoners. Health and Safety. 1) The machine must comply with all BS EN regulations and have CE markings. 2) All other Health & Safety regulation must be agreed with the Industrial manager or Site Health and safety representative.
