Tender description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has an ongoing requirement for Stray Dog collection and Pest Control Services. The Council will bear the costs of the Stray Dog Collection and Kennelling Service. This has an estimated value of 100 000 GBP per year, giving a possible value of 300 000 GBP during the initial 3-year contract term. The Council will part-fund and bear the cost of the Pest Control Service with an estimate of 50 000 GBP per year, giving a possible value of 150 000 GBP during the 3-year contract term. The remaining cost for Pest Control Service charges will be passed directly to the customer by the Provider. Potential Providers will have to provide adequate arrangements and welfare facilities for collection, kennelling and rehoming of stray dogs and as necessary arrangements for dogs to be euthanised. These requirements must be in accordance with the duties under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and other appropriate legislation. This provision must include the scanning of animals to assess the availability of microchips to assist with prompt rehoming. The Provider should be able to deal with and kennel stray dog numbers that would not normally exceed 250 per year.
