Tender description

This is a business-led project designed to research and develop a novel floating structure. The project will be part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Marine-I Challenge Fund. The project will be located in Cornwall, an Article 107(3)(a) Assisted Area under the UK Assisted Areas Map established for the period 2014 to 2020 and as defined under Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 Article 90. Shane Carr Ltd wishes to procure the following steel components: Structural steelwork fabricated from 152x152x37 UKC sections and steel plate, all from grade S355 material and hot dip galvanised to EN ISO 1461. Approximate weight 18 tonnes. Because the parts form part of a space frame structure (top & bottom chords) the fabricator must be able to demonstrate a capability of manufacturing high accuracy in hole centres, to ensure fit-up (+/- 1mm for all parts): Ref 006, Issue 01, 22.05.18 Ref 008, Issue 01, 22.05.18 Ref 007, Issue 01, 22.05.18 The manufacturer of the components must be able to demonstrate their experience of manufacturing such products.
