Tender description

This is a Framework for the appointment of a single supplier to provide preventative maintenance in county roads in Powys which will include cold applied ultra-thin surfacing systems. The framework will have a duration of 3 years with an option to extend up to a further 12 months. Powys County Council’s (The Council) Engineering Design Team (The Service) are responsible for monitoring and managing the maintenance of over 6 000 km’s of roads in the County of Powys, Mid Wales. Over 420 km’s are trunk roads, and are not included in the scope of this framework, with 238 km of Class 1 road, over 600 km of Class 2 road, over 2 100 km of Class 3 road and over 2 100 of unclassified roads. The Service is establishing this framework to appoint a single supplier for the provision of preventative maintenance which will include cold applied ultra-thin surfacing systems. The Framework will be for a period of 3 years with an option to extend up to 12 months. It is anticipated that the Framework will commence in April 2018. Any projects awarded under this framework will be governed by using the NEC3 Engineering Construction Contracts, Option B.
