DCGS reputation extends back to the early 17th century when the school began educating the boys of Amersham and the surrounding area. Now the school is widely recognised as 1 of the leading state grammar schools in the country, and is home to over 1300 students aged 11-18, including girls in the co-educational Sixth Form. As an OFSTED “outstanding” school, DCGS converted to academy status in 2011 and is proud to be a National Teaching School. In 2016 the School became a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) Centre. These functions enable the School to recruit and train the very best teachers both to DCGS and other local schools. The contract for the Sixth Form is being advertised as a totally separate commercial contract and will be let as a separate lot. However, bidding companies are welcome to tender for both service contracts; but as separate lots. Both will have a 5-year tenure (3 years with an option for the school to extend for a further 2 years). Only companies who are genuinely interested and have the ability to make significant capital investment to re furbish and re-equip the main kitchen in this valuable opportunity are asked to respond.
