Tender description

This PIN is to inform economic operators that BSO Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS) intends to issue a tender to establish a new contract for the supply of chilled cooked meats on behalf of Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland. The exact details of the contractual arrangement are yet to be decided however for guidance, products required are likely to be cooked chilled meats (pork, ham, poultry, beef and pasteurised chicken). The storage temperatures achievable for these products throughout the NI HSC (both hospital and community facilities) vary between 3oC or less, 4oC or less and 5oC or less. Microbiological standards for ready-to-eat products at end of shelf life must be in accordance with those stipulated in the paper issued by the Food Standards Agency entitled “Reducing the Risk of Vulnerable Groups Contracting Listeriosis (Guidance for Healthcare and Social Care Organisations for ready-to-eat foods). Estimated contract start date is 1.12.2018 for a duration of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 24 months.
