Summary of the work A software developer is required to work on Nottingham City Council’s back office system called EEManager to support the product owned by NCC called the EEMonitor – www.eemonitor.co.uk Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 3 to 6 months Latest start date Monday 28 May 2018 Who Speclialist Work With Product Development & Sales Manager Energy Projects Service | Commercial, Infrastructure and Energy Directorate What Specialists Work On Person Specification is as below: Fully conversant in C#, .NET and SQL (must be able to understand database architecture and the pro’s and cons of different query techniques). Experienced user of configuration management software, preferably GIT. A Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Nice to have’s: Working knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, IP protocols Working knowledge of SSL Working knowledge of analytic tools like Wireshark, PowerBI, REST Client (E.g. What sort of rate are you looking to pay for this role? Please provide your most competitive day rate, a day defined as 8 hours. 2. Any chance of change in start date probably postponed by 1 week,(1st week of June)? For the right candidate we could look at postponing the start date to the first week in June 18. 3. 1. Is there any chance of remote working? We would prefer for the software developer to be based at our site in Nottingham so we can review works being completed, however this can be discussed at the interview and there may be a possibility of remote working dependent upon the developers level of expertise. 5. Is there a current incumbent? No, there is no incumbent. 6. What the specialist will work on" as it just has the skills and experience required listed? The specialist will work on a database that supports pre-payment and energy monitoring. It is a live system that requires critical maintenance and new tasks incorporating into the software so we can automate as much as possible. The database supports end users of an NCC hardware product and is also used to generate reports for clients. There is a long list of new features as well as two pieces of critical development work that need to be started immediately. 7. Is there any security clearance required for this? The software programmer would be expected to complete a Nottingham City Council e-learning about data protection and to abide by its regulations. In addition, a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with the council would be required. 8. What is the IR35 status? The role is not outside of IR35, however all biddiers would need to take their own advice on IR35 directly from HMRC.
