The University of Southampton has recently been awarded a contract to continue the administration of research funding on behalf of The Department of Health and Social Care. The new contract commences on 1.4.2018 and will run initially for 5 years with an option to extend for a further 4 years. In order to meet the requirements of the new contract the University will be replacing its current Grants Management platform. The University of Southampton has recently been awarded a contract to continue the administration of research funding on behalf of The Department of Health and Social Care through the NIHR. The NIHR seeks to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research by providing a health research system in which the NHS supports outstanding individuals working in world-class facilities, conducting leading-edge research focused on the needs of patients and the public. In order to meet the requirements of the new contract the University will be replacing its current Grants Management platform. We are seeking an innovative technology partner to deliver a Research Grants Management and Collaboration platform that will support core business processes, facilitate interoperability with partner organisations and 3rd party systems, and aid us in meeting contractual commitments to simplify and expedite the commissioning of research. The platform must support continuous improvement across the business, enhancing our ability to feedback to contributors while providing internal and external stakeholders with an exceptional user experience. The solution must contain a robust auditable business process that can be shaped to meet the needs of a range of funding programmes, while remaining flexible so users can determine new pathways based on proportionate risk based decision-making. The solution must allow us to efficiently and effectively manage: — Stakeholder communications. — Meetings (both virtual and physical). — Reviews (internal and public). — Documents. — Workload. — Information, data and meta data. The solution must be highly configurable to enable evolving workflows and business processes across a number of functional areas including: — Identifying and prioritising topics for research. — Inviting applications for funding and contracting. — Contract management, financial management and monitoring of ongoing research projects. — Managing editorial and publishing activities for research projects. The solution must deliver integrated dashboards reporting and BI facilities. The Solution must be GDPR compliant and offer full audit capabilities. This PIN has been issued in order to gauge capability and interest in the market to assist in our decision making. This is not a call for competition.
