Tender description

Wexford County Council has commenced the review of the Wexford County Development Plan 2013-2019 and the preparation of a new County Development Plan to cover the period 2019-2025. The County Development Plan must include a Core Strategy and a Housing Strategy. Wexford County Council invite tenders from suitably qualified and experienced planning and economic consultants to provide population projections and analysis and housing and rental market projections and analysis and to prepare the County Wexford Housing Strategy 2019-2025. The main elements of the project include: (a) Population projections to inform the population allocation in the Core Strategy and associated Settlement Strategy and Settlement Hierarchy; (b) An analysis of rental affordability across the county during the plan period; (c) An examination of specified areas in the county to determine if there is housing need in the area for the reason of designating vacant residential sites under the Urban Regeneration and Housing Act, 2015; and (d) The preparation of the County Wexford Housing Strategy 2019-2025 which shall be fully compliant with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and contain recommendations for addressing housing issues arising from the analysis. The Housing Strategy shall also be fully compliant with all relevant national housing legislation, policies and plans in so far as they relate to the remit of the Housing Strategy and the County Development Plan.
