The Council is awarding an opportunity to establish a valuable all-digital small format advertising concession in the very heart of the retail district. The winning concession holder will deliver a high-quality approach to advertising through use of stylish 6-sheet digital screens that complements the town's award winning environment and enhance its reputation as the UK's premier digital and coastal destination. The concession is being offered in Bournemouth's commercial and retail heartland primarily centred either side of the Square Footfall in the concession area numbers 450 000 weekly, rising to 539 000 in July and August. The area boasts a commercial mix of high end department stores, high street brands, designer goods, quality independents and popular cafes, bars and restaurants. The area is busy day and night thanks to the popular night-time economy which has been the subject of a Purple Flag Award for the last 8 years. The winning concession holder will deliver a high-quality approach to advertising through use of stylish 6-sheet digital screens that complements the town's award winning environment and enhance its reputation as the UK's premier digital and coastal destination. The concession is being offered in Bournemouth's commercial and retail heartland primarily centred either side of the Square Footfall in the concession area numbers 450 000 weekly, rising to 539 000 in July and August. The area boasts a commercial mix of high end department stores, high street brands, designer goods, quality independents and popular cafes, bars and restaurants. The area is busy day and night thanks to the popular night-time economy which has been the subject of a Purple Flag Award for the last 5 years. The length of the contract will be for a period of seven (7) years with the option to extend the contract annually for a further 3 years. (7 years + 1 year + 1 year + 1 year). There is an additional 6 months at the start of the contract for the supplier to prepare for the installation and agree planning permission, there is no extension to this period. Therefore, if all extensions were taken, the full length of the contract would be for 10 years and 6 months. The estimated value of the contract including any possible extensions is 4 000 000 GBP — 5 500 000 GBP. This figure is an estimate and the Council can't guarantee that this value of business can be generated during the period of the contract.
