Tender description

Leeds City Council is one of a number of local authorities who have to implement a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) by January 2020. As part of this the council is reviewing its own fleet to ensure compliance with the planned CAZ proposals. The fleet replacement programme has a number of current diesel engine vehicles being replaced by a fully electric vehicle. At the same time the council is also looking to encourage citizens, visitors and businesses within the council area to invest in ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV). The council therefore has to consider the appropriate infrastructure to charge its own vehicles as well as providing a public network of electric vehicle charging points across the councils’ public buildings and council wide upon the public highway. The council is therefore looking to secure a contract with a provider who is able to deliver a partnership with the council to provide; • an electric vehicle charging infrastructure across its portfolio of buildings for both LCC employees to use as well as the general public, • home charging facilities for those LCC employees take their vehicles home, • an electric vehicle charging infrastructure city wide for use of the general public Keywords: electric vechicle, charging, infrastructure
