2-Seater Sailplane for Aerospace Engineering

Tender description

The University of Bristol (UoB) Department of Aerospace Engineering offers a 2nd year unit, Flight Dynamics & Control 2 (AENG200001). Part of this unit includes a practical flying element to demonstrate key concepts as applied to a conventional aircraft and reinforce the learning outcomes of the Flight Dynamics unit. These flights are conducted in the 3rd year and consist of a 30-minute flight in a 2-seat training glider operated by the Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club (BGGC). This procurement aims to secure a flying asset for the University of Bristol Department of Aerospace Engineering. To provide a platform with which we can offer basic flight instruction to students, demonstrate key flight dynamic concepts and offer flight test capabilities for research projects.
