Tender description

The purpose of this PIN is to advise potential providers of a market engagement day being held for The Authority's requirement for the Supply Chain Transformation Expansion (SCTX) Programme. The aims of the SCTX programme are to Optimise the MOD's Warehousing and Distribution Network and to deliver an efficient and effective solution which ensures that inventory items demanded through the Defence Supply Chain are fulfilled, through the efficient management of MOD's warehouse facilities to ensure that inventory items are receipted, stored, picked, packed, issued and delivered where and when they are required by the end user. Additionally, The Authority may seek to integrate commodity procurement and through life management of current and future commodity contracts as part of the solution, and include some overseas locations in the scope of the Warehousing and Distribution Network. The SCTX Programme is being run by a team from Defence Equipment and Support based in Abbey Wood, Bristol. The team is responsible for delivering the SCTX requirement with an aim of running a competition starting in summer 2018, the start date for the procurement activity in this notice provides an indicate date only. Further analysis is needed which will affect the value of the procurement, an indicative value for the resulting contracts is somewhere in the range of 500M GBP and 1.25BN GBP dependent on the options taken forward. We are keen to seek the views of Industry, who may be interested in participating in the procurement process, in helping to shape the requirement and this process will begin with a market engagement day being held in Bristol, UK on the 18.4.2018. This will be the first of a number of engagement events, at which we are looking to share the scale and scope of the change programme, together with our desired outcomes.
