Summary of the work 1) To enable loading of three datasets without manual adjustments from the ETL admin (ie no macro, no editing of the source file prior to loading) 2) Mapping of the data is not within scope, but advice on query optimisation will be sought. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length Less than 4 weeks Latest start date Friday 30 March 2018 Who Speclialist Work With Specialist will be working with senior BI developer and other members of the BI team as necessary. What Specialists Work On Build 3 ETL packages for the loading of data from 3 bespoke excel workbooks into a pre-existing data warehouse. Skills & Experience • Minimum experience of two years’ experience of SQL Server Integration Services, 2008 R2 edition. • Minimum of one year familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio; creating new tables via a script for multiple databases • Understanding of the role of metadata within the ETL process. • Understanding of standard data warehouse design principles including star schema, roles of staging and DW warehouses, look-up transformations. • Able to create free-standing ETL packages for transferring 2-3 Excel datasets from multi-tab source to a single DW table. Nice to Haves • Advise on query optimisation • Understanding of source control, particularly Team Foundation Server Work Location 1 Kemble Street, London, WC2B 4AN Working Arrangments Working in the ORR's head office in London where a laptop will be supplied for this piece of work. The work will be for between 6-9 days in total. Security Clearance Basic clearance is required. What is the exact contract length? 10 working days 2. What is the rate for this role? £450 per day 3. Is there an incumbent in the role? There is no incumbent in post, but there is a BI developer in post who will assist the developer in setting up and will be on hand to answer any questions during the developer being in post. 4. Can the work be done remotely? While remote working is technically possible, operational requirements mean that it would be more far more productive if they work on site.They will be: • using an ORR laptop, which is our property• working with a bespoke ETL system • working to specific requirements• offering advice on potential approaches• needing to ask me questions fairly frequently. 5. Could you please confirm whether the role is inside or outside of IR35? Please can you be more specific? 6. In relation to the IR35 question, would you accept a Specialist working through a Personal Services Company model or would you need them to work through a PAYE model (including Management Companies)? We would expect specialists to work through a PAYE arrangement.
