Burglar and fire alarms

Tender description

The Contract is for the services of a contractor to undertake the provision of planned and reactive maintenance of fire and security installations to corporate properties and schools, including fire alarm systems, intruder alarms, sprinkler systems, aqua quench systems, fire extinguishers and blankets, fire hydrants, dry risers, fire hoses, emergency lighting, gas suppression, voice alarm systems, disabled refuge systems, induction loop systems and smoke vent systems. The contract will cover approximately 224 properties / assets across the borough. The service will include the provision of an emergency call-out service 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The proposed contract will be for an initial period of five (5) years commencing in April 2018, with an option to extend for a further 2 year extension. The Contract will operate for an initial period of 5 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years extension, dependent upon the Contractor's performance. This will be at Reading Borough Council's sole discretion. For illustrative purposes it is estimated that the potential total annual value is 300 000 GBP over the 5-year term, with an option to extend by 2 years.
