South Pennine Academies is an exempt charity and a not for profit organisation. The Trust operates as a multi academy trust and in that respect is the employer across all the academies in the partnership. A multi Academy trust is simply a number of academies who agree to work together within an overarching trust body with a remit to co-ordinate matters of common interest referred collectively by the Governing Bodies. South Pennine Academies has been developed to allow Moor End Academy to work formally in partnership with other academies, pre-schools and other organisations. For the contractor to: — work with the South Pennine Academies to pursue inventive new ideas for the delivery of quality meals. Students must be able to feel the offer is value for money together with food being well balanced, fresh and nutritional. South Pennine Academies place huge importance to providing their students and staff with healthy, nutritious food. The offer should include all styles of menu including a wide range of vegetarian and international dishes, — to ensure the continued commitment to healthy eating, vegetarian cuisine, fair trade and local sourcing. This must include the quality, variety, presentation and merchandising of the food and continued support of the existing catering team, —develop and maintain a ‘restaurant culture’ in the South Pennine Academies ensuring that students eat a range of different foods, making healthy and informed choices, eating as a social activity and open to trying new foods, — to work with the South Pennine Academies to provide an environment to support the change, — provide high quality, reasonably priced catering for parent events and meetings held on site, — provide as and when and by event a Hospitality Proposal and Price for both external hirers and internal events at the school, — to enter into an agreement that rewards the Contractor for continual improvements in their financial and operational performance as well as passing on any financial benefits to the South Pennine Academies over and above any agreed guarantees.
