Operational Travel Bags. The STSP-DCC project team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to place a 12-month contract for the procurement of 27 800 Operational Travel Bags (8465-99-421-5710) with Seyntex N.V. The value of the contract is not expected to exceed 1 000 000 GBP (VAT EX.). The placement of this contract will allow continuity of supply whilst the Authority competes a 5 year supply contract. Procuring the item from an alternate supplier would require a significant level of technical, quality assurance, supply chain and cost assessment by the Authority, which is not deemed appropriate for the quantity required and the urgent delivery timeframe. The level of risk associated with sourcing an alternate supplier at this stage is too high, and tendering this requirement under the open or restricted procedures with publication of a contract notice will result in the failure to deliver the equipment within the required timescale.
