Tender description

The background to this PIN is that the Christie has developed its own in-house EPR system, the Christie Web Portal (CWP). This is the key clinical patient record system in the Trust, has many unique features tailored to cancer diagnosis, treatment and pathways, and is much loved by the clinicians. However there are challenges in sustaining product support and development in-house, and the Trust wishes to explore all options for its future EPR strategy. Potential options (i)the outsourcing of support and development for CWP to a 3rd party (ii)purchasing an alternative EPR system & either rebuilding end-user forms or integrating to the existing CWP forms engine. Explore all potential options & encourage suppliers to offer innovative cost-effective alternatives. Mechanism for realising the IP value of the CWP system would be of particular interest. For option(i) an outsourcing supplier would be expected to bring a track record of similar large-scale application & support service contracts, ideally in the Healthcare sector. Proven resources & expertise in the technology of ASP Net SQL C# MVC & modern industry-standard processes for software development, release & service management. option(ii) an EPR supplier would be expected to have a number of proven, stable, referenceable EPR implementations & willing to investigate options for retaining the existing CWP clinical forms functionality whether by rebuild, reconfigure or system integration.
