Tender description

Who Speclialist Work With The Specialist Company will be required to work with the Authority and other Suppliers to ensure coherent delivery of the services. The Specialist Company must have the necessary office facilities to support their own off-site working. It is anticipated that the Specialist Company will agree with the Authority to spend varying degrees of time located at the Authority’s site for face-to-face meetings and to carry out work of a security sensitive nature. What Specialists Work On 1. Produce and review relevant technical documentation to support the Infrastructure, application platforms and services. 2. Provide dedicated support to troubleshoot problems with Infrastructure and Platforms across all IAS owned and managed hosting environments with a primary focus on the JSF. 3. Ensure that all Infrastructure Platforms and services are delivered and align to the policies and standards that have been defined for the system. 4. Implement solutions and provide technical expertise for new, and enhancements to existing, Infrastructure and application services, based on the prioritised business requirements. 5. Provide technical support for all designed and hosted applications and services. Where the Work Takes Place The place of delivery of the contract shall be at such location as agreed between the Specialist Company and the Authority. Early Market Engagement N/A Working Arrangements The Specialist company shall use its own initiative as to the manner in which services are to be delivered; for the avoidance of doubt, the Specialist Company shall not be supervised, directed or controlled regarding how the services are delivered. The Specialist Company shall use its own equipment where security requirements permit. The Specialist Company is expected to provide the services on such hours/days as required to meet any deadlines, as agreed between the Specialist Company and the Authority. The Specialist Company shall provide the necessary resources to support the Services which shall include one or more specialists. Work Location The place of delivery of the contract shall be at such location as agreed between the Specialist Company and the Authority. Security Clearance Security Clearance (SC) required for the duration of the role. Incumbents are to follow both the letter and spirit of Army Headquarters security regulations. Current SC preferred, however IAS would consider interim BPSS sponsorship for the right individual, remaining the intermediary’s responsibility to put the candidate through SC vetting process. Redhat/Centos) variants. Microsoft infrastructure technologies to include Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS. Database management systems and application servers with a particular predominance of MSSQL (including Availability Groups), MySQL and Oracle based technologies. Open source technology including, web servers (e.g. Apache), Java deployment (e.g. Tomcat and Glassfish), PHP and scripting languages e.g. Perl and shell. Identity Management technologies to include SAML, LDAP, Shibboleth and Microsoft Active Directory/ADFS and their integration across disparate vendor products. BIND DNS infrastructure. Internet facing email solutions (ideally Icewarp). Security products, e.g. IDS/IPS, file and channel encryption technologies, enterprise Antivirus products. Virtualisation, primarily VMware. SANs, servers, racks, media libraries, storage, virtualisation and backup. Networks - LAN, WAN, routing, network switching and carrier technologies. F5 Load balancers (LTM and APM), Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls. SafeNet/Gemalto HSM’s with particular focus on TDE for MSSQL/MySQL/ORACLE RDBMS systems. HP ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge hardware. Good technical authoring skills and experience of defining and documenting technical procedures. Broad knowledge of external IT developments and emerging best practice, including strategy, architecture and planning. Nice to Haves Previous experience of working within a secure Defence Environment. Previous knowledge and understanding of working within a DevOps/Agile environment. Working knowledge of ITIL v3. Working knowledge of wider defence systems and services. Experience of working with Large 3rd party hosting providers, specifically Rackspace. Experience of delivering and supporting Microsoft SharePoint hosting Platforms. Experience of delivering and supporting Enterprise Collaboration tools (ideally Jive). Experience of migrating services to Cloud based provides esp. Azure and providing ongoing support for migrated services. Knowledge of HP ArcSight. Demonstrated understanding and exposure to PRINCE2 managed projects and PRINCE2 documentation and processes.
