Tender description

Meller Educational Trust (MET) is a multi academy trust based in Hertfordshire with 7 academies and University Technical Colleges, primarily based around Watford, South Hertfordshire and Hillingdon. The MET is seeking to centrally procure catering services across the Trust. In the first instance, this will encompass the Bushey Academy, Francis Combe Academy, the Hertswood Academy and Watford UTC with the potential to extend to other schools within the Trust as their current arrangements end, and as the Trust grows. The services may vary between academies to suit the local demographic, site facilities and student numbers, and we would expect bidders to take each school's needs into account. Equally, the contract terms must be favourable to each institution within the Trust, and we reserve the right for each academy to determine value for money of the arrangement for their circumstance. Francis Combe Academy, 01923 672964 Horseshoe Lane Watford, Garston, WD25 7HU. Watford UTC and other MET Academies and UTC's may seek to opt into this agreement at the expiry of their existing arrangements. The Contractor will price for and produce Service Level Agreements for each individual site joining the Trust / Group Contract; each of which will be coterminous with the main contract agreement which will be supplied in the Tender Pack. The Bushey Academy Academy roll currently 1 200 (including a sixth form of some 200) rising to a maximum capacity of 1 350 (including sixth form) by September 2019. Free Student Meals Eligible 121 current take up 81 %. Value currently 2.25 but will increase in September 2017 in line with Hertfordshire County Council Rate. Free Duty Meals Average 30 per day. Value 3.10 but will increase by the same % as the Student Free Meals in September 2017. Current Turnover Between 350 000 and 380 000. Hertswood Academy Academy roll' currently 1 062 (plus a sixth form of 234). September 2017 roll forecast to be 1 080 (plus Sixth Form of 259), rising to a maximum capacity of 1650 (including sixth form) by September 2019. Free Student Meals eligible 205 — current take up 77 %. Value currently 2.20. Free Duty Meals average 13 per day. Value 3.50. Current Turnover between 395 000 and 425 000. Francis Combe Academy Academy roll currently 1 006 (plus sixth form of 95) — September 2017 roll will increase. Free school meals eligible 158 — currently take up 75 %. Value currently 2.20 Staff meals (not duty meals) 2.20. Current turn over between 330 000 and 350 000.
