Tender description

Bord na Mona wishes to appoint a suitable service provider for the haulage of approximately 80 000 weighted tonnes of chipped wood logs produced by a log chipper. These wood-chips will be required to be transported via walking floor trailer with delivery to Edenderry Power Station, Balllykilleen, Edenderry, Co. Offaly. The logs are stored at 8 locations within 20 km to 80 km of the power plant. The logs in general will be in general average c. 30 % moisture content but may range from 20 % to 35 % moisture and will be chipped direct to walking floor trailer. Sufficient capacity of plant must be available from the haulier in order to ensure maximum utilisation of the wood-chipper generally between the hours of 8:00 to 17:00 daily, Monday to Saturday. Bord na Móna may decide to combine Chipping and Haulage if the commercials are beneficial to do so.
