Tender description

The European Social Survey, European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ESS ERIC) Director seeks to appoint an institution to provide a Chair of the European Social Survey Sampling and Weighting Expert Panel. The Chair will have responsibility for the sampling and weighting tasks for ESS Round 8 and prepare those activities for ESS Round 9, relating to the Work Programme 2017-2019 (01 June 2017 to 31 May 2019). The overall aims for the Chair will be to:(a) Ensure, in consultation with ESS National Coordinators, that the most effective sampling designs possible according to ESS standards are designed, drawn and documented;(b) produce the different weights that ESS disseminates to its users;(c) ensure that ESS procedures and standards regarding sampling reflect the state of the art;(d) advise the CST on best practices in the area of sampling.
