Tender description
This Tender has been prepared for the purpose of appointing an Architect-led Design Team to take the Cnoc Soilleir project forward. The vision for the Cnoc Soilleir project is to establish a Centre for Gàidhlig language, music and dance in South Uist. The Cnoc Soilleir centre will provide unique learning opportunities, events and year-round performances of an international standard. This Project Brief has been prepared for the purpose of appointing an Architect-led Design Team in relation to the proposed development. It is anticipated that the design team will either be a multi-disciplinary organisation or a consortium brought together by 1 Lead Consultant to complete this Project. Expressions of Interest from individual consultants who cannot provide all of the necessary services will not be considered. The Lead Consultant/Architect-led Design Team will undertake all duties as set out in the full invitation to tender (available from www.publiccontractsoctland.gov.uk), for the Client, Ceòlas Uibhist, acting on behalf of the partnership Cnoc Soilleir. It is intended that there will be a single professional service contract between Ceòlas Uibhist and the selected Lead Consultant/Architect-led Design Team. In the first instance the main objective of the Lead Consultant/Architect-led Design Team will be to proactively and comprehensively lead the design and coordination of all aspects of the project to the end of Phase 1 (Detailed Design and Groundworks) and to work with the client and other consultants to prepare for Phase 2 of the project (Superstructure, fit-out and completion). It is anticipated that the Lead Consultant/Architect-led Design Team will be procured for the whole project (i.e. Phases 1 and 2). The Cnoc Soilleir development will be implemented in 2 phases: Phase 1 will comprise detailed design work and initial groundworks. Phase 2 will include all remaining construction works, building fit-out and project completion. This invitation to tender is for an architect-led design team to oversee and manage Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project. The specific requirements at each Phase are outlined in detail in the Statement of Requirements in Section 9. Key requirements of design.
