Tender description

The General Optical Council (GOC) intends to appoint a supplier to support, maintain and develop the software and database used to run its web-based Continuing Education and Training (CET) System. The General Optical Council (GOC) intends to appoint a supplier to support, maintain and develop the software and database used to run its web-based Continuing Education and Training (CET) System. The contract will run for a 4 year period from June 2018. The supplier will be responsible for ensuring the availability of the CET Software to stakeholders who use the system. It will also ensure the accuracy of the data received by the system and information reported to the GOC. The supplier will also need to be able to develop the system on request from the GOC during the period of the contract, with an initial development phase to modernize the current user interface between June and December 2018. The GOC will sign a contract with the supplier for support maintenance and development of the CET system. The supplier will provide the following support and maintenance services: — support to the CET Scheme Manager who delivers first line end user support, — software and database support and maintenance, — development of the software and database as required. NOTE: Hosting is provided by a third party supplier.
