Contract to provide professional cleaning services at Wexham School, a secondary school in Slough, Berkshire, UK. Wexham School requires a cleaning contractor to provide a high quality and professional cleaning service at the school site. It is anticipated that the service will be required Monday to Friday for 46 weeks of the year for approximately 4.5 hours a day as follows: Term time — 38 weeks. Periodic cleaning services — 4 weeks. Holiday cleaning services — 4 weeks. It is anticipated that the contractor will be required to supply all janitorial supplies and consumables to the school although the school reserves the right to individually purchase the consumables should they wish to do so. The School anticipates that the successful bidder will commence provision of the services on 1.9.2017. As a result of proposed building works at the school, it is possible that the school will expand from being a 5 ½ form entry school to an 8 form entry school from September 2018. This means that, on completion of any such expansion, the footprint of the school is likely to increase in comparison to its current size which would have an impact on the scope of the cleaning services in the event that the school decides to extend the contract beyond the initial 1 year contract period. In the event that there is an expansion resulting in an increase to the footprint of the Site, any change to the contract price will be determined by the following process: a. The Contractor will view the additional space; b. The Contractor will calculate any increase to the square meterage of the Site; c. The Contractor will assess how much time it would take to clean the additional areas of the Site, taking into account any comments the School has and whether any specialist equipment is needed e.g. if there is a sprung floor; d. The Contractor will calculate a price for the School's approval based on the square meterage of the additional space and the time it will take to carry out the cleaning services. The School reserves the right to benchmark the proposed pricing for the additional space. The school estimates that the value range for the first contract year could be in the region of 110 000 - 130 000 GBP. It is difficult for the School to be precise at this stage about how any expansion to the site will affect the contract price if the school exercises its option to extend the contract by up to 2 years but it is estimated that the total value of the contract could be in the region of 360 000 - 470 000 GBP. This does not mean that the School will pay this amount for the cleaning services but is meant to be helpful to enable potential bidders to assess the value of the contract.
