Industrial site rehabilitation

Tender description

Norfolk County Council wishes to engage a contractor to remove, process, sell or dispose of construction, demolition and waste material consisting of stockpiles of clean broken concrete, mixed inert waste, mixed rubble, topsoil, clean timber and discarded timber, concrete blocks and residual material from a timber fire consisting of ash, metal and inert material. The site is subject to an enforcement notice issued by Norfolk County Council requiring the removal of unauthorised material from the site. The requirement is the processing, removal, sale and disposal of the following materials: (A) 57 519 m3 of construction and demolition and waste consisting of stockpiles of clean broken concrete, mixed inert waste, mixed rubble, topsoil soil, clean timber and discarded timber; (B) 290 tonnes of concrete blocks; (C) residual material from a timber fire consisting of ash, metal and inert material. The contract is expected to commence in spring 2018 and would be subject to satisfactory permitting requirements and measures taken to minimise the impact of the clearance operations on the amenity of the local residents. We are planning to offer site inspection accompanied by Officers of Norfolk County Council followed by individual meetings in 1.2018. At these meetings, we hope to explore with you options to clear the site. Further details of the nature of the material including surveys and photographs can be provided by Norfolk County Council officers. At this stage we are asking for expressions of interest.
