Westmeath County Council (‘the Council’) intends to initiate a tender competition in early Q1 2018 to seek an economic operator to develop a sustainable, mixed tenure residential development at Brawny Road, Lissywollen, Athlone, County Westmeath (‘the Development’). As part of its preparations, Westmeath County Council will launch a preliminary market engagement process on Friday 15.12.2017 from 9.00 am. to 10:30 am. at the offices of the National Treasury Management Agency, Treasury Building, Grand Canal Street, Dublin 2, D02XN96, Ireland. All interested parties are requested to attend for pre-registration at 8:30 am. The Council requests that parties interested in attending the presentation, register their interest to paul.hogan@westmeathcoco.ie The site is capable of delivering 650 housing units, with 455 of those entering the private residential market and 195 purchased by the Council for social housing (subject to the successful economic operator receiving suitable planning permission). The tenure mix is required to be 30 % social housing units to be sold to the Council and 70 % private residential housing units, with the exact number of units to form part of the Council's dialogue with interested parties. The Council is seeking to identify an economic operator that is capable of working in collaboration with the Council to identify the optimal solution for the Development and to deliver these requirements as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The Council anticipates using the competitive dialogue tender procedure in order to select an economic operator. The Council requests that parties interested in attending the presentation, register their interest to paul.hogan@westmeathcoco.ie Interested parties are asked to monitor the Official Journal of the European Union and eTenders as additional documents and information will be provided to the market in the coming weeks and during the preliminary market consultation phase.
