Tender description

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) was seeking to appoint a supplier of suppliers of a Grants and Projects Management Solution / Tool which can integrate with existing University systems, The system will improve the proposal to awards process and support increased capacity and quality of both research and commercial project applications in line with the University's strategic targets. Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) was seeking to appoint a supplier or suppliers of a Grant and Projects Management solution / tool which can integrate with existing University systems. As a modern civic University, LJMU applies for and receives millions of pounds and research and commercial funding every year from a wide range of funders, making it essential that the University has an efficient and effective mechanism for managing the process of grants / project management and approval of research and commercial projects. It is also crucial that the data relating to applications and awards is recorded accurately. An integrated system will improve the quality of the data feeding into management information and external reports. Management and administration of the research and commercial (enterprise) grants process is the responsibility of Research and Innovation Services (RIS) in conjunction with Finance, Legal and Governance and Faculty staff.. This process is generally robust, however it is currently complex and requires improvements in tracking progress of bids, approvals, reporting and oversight if it is to be made more efficient. This in turn will allow Research and Innovation staff to more effectively use their expertise to support a core aim of the University; embedding Research, Scholarship and Knowledge transfer. As the primary means of administering, and through electronic workflows authorising and recording submission of research and commercial projects, the system will be business critical. LJMU therefore wished to enter into a partnership with a provider that can guarantee full support during integration and implementation, appropriate Service Level Agreement and technical support: and an on going commitment to maintaining and improving the system's functionality.
