Summary of the work Reporting to the Scrum Master and Product Owners of the Programme, provide support to the Marine Information Programme to deliver: User Portal Wireframes and Pages Appropriate APIs and Web Portal security Test all development to meet User Features Transfer knowledge to Development team Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 3 Months Latest start date Monday 8 January 2018 Who Speclialist Work With The Specialist is required within the Marine Information Programme What Specialists Work On The Web Developer Specialist will work as part of an established Java development team in an agile environment. The individual will be a full member of the software engineering team and pair program with the Development team responsible for the Web Portal to transfer knowledge and skills to the team. They will: 1. Design the wireframes for the CDP User Portal and ‘Data as a Service’ Portals. 2. Develop the User Interface web pages 3. Develop against secured APIs 4. Test Portals & APIs Skills & Experience • 5+ years JavaScript experience (or TypeScript) • Experience in developing Web Portals using a variety of front end frameworks and tools, e.g. Angular, & Webpack • Knowledge of information technology security issues • Knowledge of Information architecture (Client & Server side) • Knowledge of developing with APIs • The ability to pick up new technologies quickly and apply them to business problems • Test driven development experience • The ability to develop with agility, e.g. have worked as part of a Scrum team • Working with users to design and develop the web portal pages Work Location United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, Admiralty Way, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 2DN Working Arrangments Full-time, 5 days a week Security Clearance Security Check (SC) or Disclosure of Scotland as a minimum Additional T&Cs The Web Developer specialist will pair with team members to transfer knowledge and skills.
