Northern Powergrid has established a framework for the design, construction, transportation and offloading at site of a modular substation building for use on the network across all operating zones. Northern Powergrid is defining modular substation building as a completely constructed and pre-commissioned element of a substation, which is built offsite and delivered onto pre-prepared foundations and requires minimal works to commission it onto the network. The intent is to minimise as far as possible works at site.
