EHRC 1718-58 Socio-Economic Duty Research – Scotland

Tender description

The aims of this research project are: • To provide EHRC Scotland with evidence about the impact of socio-economic clauses in existing legislation, especially the clauses incorporated into the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 and the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015. • To better understand the approach of public bodies and individuals who have to implement the relevant legislation in relation to compliance or the assessment of progress. • To better understand the kind of change that Parliamentarian and inspection bodies expected and to assess the extent to which the implementation of these duties has created that change. • To identify what specific issues, opportunities, threats, advantages or disadvantages are linked to the proposed socio-economic duty. • To identify further related work that could be conducted by the EHRC.
