Demolition of Existing Garages and Construction of Sixteen Dwellings (across two sites within the boundaries of Southend on Sea)

The Council are seeking a suitably qualified contractor to complete the following works including design and build: Audleys Close Demolition of former Council Owned garage site of 14 under used and dilapidated garages adjacent to No.19. Audleys Close. Proposed 1 No. 2 Bedroom 4 Person Fully Wheelchair Accessible Bungalow Rochford Road Proposed 3 No. 3 Bedroom 5 Person Terrace Houses & Proposed 2 No. Blocks of 6, 2 Bedroom 3 Person Flats with the ground floor flats of both flat blocks being fully Wheelchair Accessible Flats. The procurement process will be conducted electronically via the Council's e-tender facility Procontract: https://procurement.southend.gov.uk/southend/portal.nsf/index.htm You need to Express an Interest in this opportunity, then look at 'My Opportunities' where you will be able to find and view all the tender documents. Interested parties should be aware that further to previous updates, the Council has sent proposals for sewer enabling works to Anglian Water with regard to the Rochford Road site and would expect an outcome decision on the options within four weeks although there is not a minimum or maximum statutory time period for their response. In light of this, the Council have extended the tender deadline again until 17 January 2018 at midday. The garages on Rochford Road have now been demolished in preparation for these enabling works. Please note that there is still hard standing and pavement to the front of the site, the removal of which will need to be priced for and this will be outlined in the revised tender requirements published.
