UK Shared Business Services Ltd, acting as the Contracting Authority, is putting into place a contract of behalf of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) . A Multi-Corer system is required by BAS scientific work involving the collection of both biological material & geological sediment. . The proposed system must be highly capable & proven to work in the harsh environment within which BAS operates. . (Please Note : Specification details are availabeas an attachment via Emptoris) . Further Multi-Corer Systems may be required by BAS in coming years, hence within this tender opportunity BAS wishes to enter into a Contract under which it has the option to purchase an additional 2-3 units over the duration of the Contract. . The key operational capabilities of the proposed multi-corer system are : - A Modular Framework Construction - Reliable Deployment to 6000m - Provision of 12 sample tubes, each being at least 60cm in length & 10cm in diameter - Have the ability to adjust penetration depth of the core tubes - Delivery of the Multi-Corer system before the end of April 2017
