Tender description

Gateshead Council wishes to refresh its Storage Area Network that is approaching the limit of its performance and capacity and also the end of its supported life. Due to increasing resource demands, a progressive digital first strategy, and a drive to become more efficient, particularly during a climate of public sector financial austerity, we require a fit-for-purpose replacement solution that will reduce total cost of ownership and generate a demonstrable return on investment. The contract opportunity for the refresh will include scope for our live and DR site NetApp SAN appliances. Following evaluation of further competition responses and review of commercial offers, the Council will decide on the most appropriate option based on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT). The proposed solution must meet the demands for performance and capacity to run existing and identified future workloads with the ability to scale easily on and off-premise.
