Tender description
NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (NHS Arden & GEMCSU) on behalf of NHS England West & North Midlands (the Commissioner) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver the service provision Child Health Information Service (CHIS). NHS England - West and North Midlands is responsible for commissioning Section 7a public health services for the 5.7 million people registered in Arden (Coventry, Warwickshire), Birmingham, Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton), Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire. The scope of this tender is to procure a single provider for Child Health Information Services for this population. Anticipated timeline milestones are: 1. Contract award - End October 2015 2. Service commencement date - 1st April 2016 The aim of the CHIS is to ensure that each child in has an active care record, supporting delivery of, as a minimum, screening, immunisation and the Healthy Child Programme services. The primary purpose of the CHIS is to manage data and statistical information which supports the provision of public health services to children and young people aged 0-19 including: Health Visiting, School Nursing/5-19 Healthy Child Programme services, Looked After Children (LAC), immunisation teams and primary care. This includes recording notifications of new births and babies moving into the area,requesting records, updating the child health information system with movements in and out, managing school health records, public health intelligence support and record transfers. The CHIS plays a critical role in the local delivery of the national antenatal and newborn screening and immunisation programmes and in the collection, reporting and distribution of other child health data and information in a timely and efficient manner
