Background The Alpine Snowsports Centre in Gallwey Road, Aldershot is one of the only ski centres in the area. It has 3 dry ski slopes available for open sessions and lessons. Skiing and snowboarding lessons are available for all abilities as well as donutting parties and school holiday activities. The slopes are floodlit for evening lessons, and there is a bar, function area and ski shop on site. Alpine Snowsports Aldershot centre has 3 floodlit ski slopes, the main slope being 110 metres long and 2 nursery slopes 75 metres long. All slopes have a mist system. The facility also has free parking, ski shop and has a kitchen / bar type servery with some tables and chairs that serves teas and coffees. Rushmoor Borough Council wants to use a soft market-testing event to help determine the scope of the specification and service level requirements for a management contract. We would like to invite potential providers along for some soft market testing / pre- procurement engagement in November to enable us to get a better understanding of the options that are available. The Council is particularly keen to attract external investment to improve the facility for the local community and beyond. The Council is considering options for a 10-year management contract or alternative long-term arrangements to bring innovation and major improvement. We want to talk about the optimum length of contract and potential arrangements to bring innovation and major improvement.
