Tender description

The provision of IT Training Services in the Scottish Government. This framework agreement will be available for use by core Scottish Government departments and the following 17 Agencies and Associated Departments and Scottish Non Departmental Public Bodies served by Scottish Ministers. The electronic document and records management system currently used across SG is an application called Objective which is produced by Objective Corporation http://www.objective.com/ This application is known internally as eRDM. The contract with Objective Corporation is currently under review and during the period covered by the framework an alternative solution may be implemented. The SG desktop, server and software platform is collectively known as SCOTS and is principally, but not exclusively Microsoft based. The current desktop is Microsoft Windows 7 Pro with Microsoft Office 2010 and Internet Explorer (v11) as the web browser. The server platform include Windows Server; SQL Server; Oracle; Solaris. SG IT Teams have developed a range of business tools used by staff, most of which have web front ends connecting to a range of back end databases. The SG desktop, server and software platform is collectively known as SCOTS and is principally, but not exclusively Microsoft based. The current desktop is Microsoft Windows 7 Pro with Microsoft Office 2010, (Word, Excel and PowerPoint with Access used for ‘desktop’ databases), Outlook as the mail client and Internet Explorer as the web browser. SG are implementing a project called Transforming Our Workplace. The early stages of this project are implementing improve the ways we communicate with colleagues by using technology. This technology includes things like Cisco WebEx and the use of Audio and Video Conferencing. Currently there is no training being undertaken in these areas so it is not possible to give any indication of the number or duration of training interventions required.
