Tender description

The Church Street district heating scheme is a low carbon piece of infrastructure which helps enable the regeneration of the Church Street area in an environmentally responsible way. The scheme will serve 2 500-3 500 homes and several other buildings. The scheme would mean WCC delivers on its planning policy obligations for new developments, future proofs energy supplies to existing residents and implements its own wider policy objectives in carbon and air quality. Fast track phase — the construction of a new heat network, heat connections to buildings in the Church Street area and operational services. This is around 12 GWh/a of heat. See Figure 12 below. WCC will utilise the BEIS Grant for this phase and anticipates fully funding this phase over 2018 to 2020.
